Starting separation classes just at 2

I go to a mommy and me class on Fridays. It's adorable and I love the teachers.
I noticed that more and more of the mommies do the transition after gym. We are all together for about 45 minutes then there's a bit group of moms that leave and the kids stay alone for another 45 mins (with the teachers of course). They have snack, music, books, etc.
DS will be 2 next month and I was thinking it's kind of early and then realized the majority of the moms that leave have younger ones than DS.
There's only a few of us that stay with their kids in a separate part.
Today I decided since class was small I'd try it. After snack DS got sad and asked for me so they brought him out.
Just funny how young they start now.
My older DS has been in daycare since 3 months so would be fine. WHen I left my job I have just always been with my younger one.
At what age did you start doing some separation classes or classes they do on their own? Not counting daycare.

With DS#1, we spent a small fortune on separation classes/preschool prep in Manhattan from 14 months to 2.5 years old, specifically at Moon Soup, Kidville and 74th St Magic (associated with one of those fancy Manhattan preschools).

Then we moved to Virginia and DS#1 started regular preschool at 2.5.

DS#2 went to no separation/preschool prep and went straight to the toddler class in DS's preschool at 1.5. We are amazed at how much DS#2 is thriving in school.

All that money we spent in Manhattan was a total waste! I think I just got caught up in the Manhattan preschool frenzy. I was always so worried DS would be behind. My friends in Manhattan still worry whether it is trying to get into a prestigious private school or getting into GT in kindergarten. Sounds very stressful.

DD1 started dance at 2 yrs, but she would freak whenever I left the room. Since she turned 3- I've been able to just open the door for her and she goes in while I wait out in the waiting room. She's fine with it- but she knows I'm out there (she's come out to use the potty during class).

I started ds in a class last year when he was 22.5 months. He cried for the first few times but then got over it.

My DS did a 90 min. seperation class at 27 months. This was through E.I. though at a pre-k.
I cried more than him. LOL
He loved it!

DS #1 did slow separation at 2.5 because he has a late birthday so he missed the fall cut-off.

DS #2 turns 2 on Monday and he is doing slow sep this fall.

We did a separation class as part of Gymboree. DS started about 2 months ago (2 yr 7 months). He walked right in, no problem. 50% of kids had a tough time, the others had no problem.

My twins started a 2yo nursery school program when they were 2y/4mo. They did great and they LOVED it.

My DD has been in a sof seperation calss since 18months, maybe earlier. I signed her up for nursery school, 2 days a week, 2.5 hours a day in Sept. She will be 26 months. I am a SAHM so she needs the separation IMO. I am excited for her to start, and am predicting we will have an issue the first couple days, but I think she will get over it quiock if she does.

DD#2 is starting nursery school in September. It is 2.5hrs. A day , 2 days a week. I started the other 2 at the same age (2.5 years old) and they did great. They both cried a little but stopped.

DS will be 3 in november... and in september he's starting a nursery school program. So he won't quite be 3 when he starts.
its just 2 mornings a week, and i think it will be great for him... i'm a SAHM, so i think it will be nice for both of us to get some time away from each other. I'm thinking the first couple days or maybe even weeks will be a little rough... but i think he'll love it!

DS turned 2 in May, and right now he is signed up for a 2's program for September. I may cancel the registration though and wait until he is 3. I am so torn. He is also signed up for a gymnastics class in the fall one day a week, as well as swimming another day, and I want to add an art class into the schedule as well. A part of me feels that is enough for now and he can wait another year to start real "school". I have the summer to decide so we shall see.

My mommy and me class is "slow separation" where you are with them in the fall (DS was 17 mos) then leave them in the spring (DS was 21 months). He cried the first few times for awhile but after he was fine. He is in the 2s class this coming fall, and it will be by himself! They are both 2 times a week.

If I had the extra money I would for sure do it. My twins are 2.5 and I am home again on maternity leave and DD is very attached to me. I think it is good for them to learn to separate.

DS was 3 when he started preschool and had never been in any kind of separation before that. I was worried because like you said we were like the only ones. He transitioned great! No real issues adjusted after two days!

DD was almost 3 when she started a 2's program since she missed the cut-off for regular preschool.. I would have kept her with me but, she was dying to go to school and asked about it constantly. I signed her up for 2 days a week. She walked into the class room and didn't look back
