Coconut Oil?
I am 21 weeks pg and I am looking into Coconut oil to be used in my cooking, as a facial, moisturizer for the body and I also read that moms use it on their little one's for diaper rash and as a moisturizer. Do any of you use it for diaper rash? Do you love it? Hate it? Does it really work on Diaper Rash?
I like the idea of using something natural.

I've never used it for diaper rash but we use it daily as a moisturizer and love it. It works wonderful and has so many uses.

I don't use it for diaper rash, but I put it on after baths to seal in the moisture.

I use it as a diaper cream and baby lotion. Love it. Works well, smells good, and it's not expensive (maybe 6 or $7 in Trader Joes)

Re: Coconut Oil?
Thanks! I bought two jars yesterday from Trader Joes. One for the Kitchen and one for the Bath. So far, I used it as a moisturizer and face wash. Love it! I got mixed reviews about the face wash, but so far so good. I also used it on my 4 year old daughter as a moisturizer.
Tonight, I used it to cook my chicken strips. I expected it to have an overpowering taste, but it was very subtle.
NOw, I am reading about pulling.....not sure about that but worth a try.
I think I am a coconut oil convert!

Re: Coconut Oil?
I love it. I have used it on my son...all over. He hardly gets rashes. Other natural remedies for rashes are witch hazel and baking soda. You can actually use all 3 without it being overkill. Soak baby in a bath with baking soda, then wipe with diluted witch hazel and coat with coconut oil. (while witch hazel is all natural you should test a small area on the skin first just to be sure because it is an astringent)

This. Works great on my sons face rashes. I use it for any skin ailment we have. I also use it in my hair, cooking and general body moisturizer.
