Coconut Oil
Hi ladies I just wanted to come by and tell youI have introduced coconut oil into my son's diet (he is on the spectrum) and I am quite convinced that it has had some positive effect on him language wise. I put 1 teaspoon into his yogurt or oatmeal or whatever he's eating. I started about 2 weeks ago and it seems like he is sooooo much more verbal than usual. (he is 3.5 years old) yesterday he said "thank you" to me all on his own without prompting after I gave him a glass of orange juice. His sentences are longer and more complex.
I've tried so many "bio medical" interventions such as fish oil or vitamin b12 shots and I ahve to say I have not seen anything give me such a profound result as this. Just wanted to share if anyone was curious about trying....This is what I use. Image Attachment(s):

We've gone all coconut over here, lol!
I haven't tried putting it in his yogurt or anything but he eats coconut ice cream, drinks coconut milk, etc.

And I put the 100% organic virgin coconut oil on his skin for lotion....and mine too and I have to say as an aside my skin has NEVER been smoother. 
I haven't seen any noticeable differences in my DS because of it but it can't hurt and I'm SO glad you're DS is becoming more verbal, that's wonderful!!

Coconut oil, is EXCELLENT. It's full of caprylic acid. Caprylic acid can help break down any type of candida in the gut, as well as any other types of pathogens (strep, staph etc). If you can cook with it, or put it in or on (the skin) anything it is fantastic. The fact that your ds improved with this shows that his body is battling something .
At first there could be a die off phase so if someone is first introducing it , it should be gradually. The die off can cause a negative reaction before a positive.
Coconut water is also great because it can clear out viruses and bacteria, as well as supply the body with the same electrolytes that our blood contains. It helps fire up those neurons. It could help with the die off , as well as epsom salt baths

Any suggestions on what to add to coconut water to make it taste better for DS? I've tried giving it to him and he says, "yuk, DIS-SUS-IN"  He really only drinks water and coconut milk, we don't really give juice but I guess I can try adding some if it will get him to drink the coconut water.
