Buying tickets off craigslist
Is there any way to check that tickets are legit before I buy them?
(I already checked stub hub and this guy on Craigslist is selling better seats for the same price)

Nope. There is absolutely no way.
I work in Broadway ticketing and go to tons of concerts and the occasional game. I would never, ever buy tickets from Craigslist - I know too many who have been scammed.

Last year we got awesome Knicks tickets from a guy on Craigslist. He even sent them to us to print before receiving our payment. This year we tried again. We went to meet the guy at a Starbucks and he was clearly shady. We started questioning the tickets, he took them back and left. It was definitely a scam. We wound up paying more ad just getting them from Stubhub.

I wouldn't. I did it once and thank god it was legit...but I was already willing to pay for a concert that was free (DMB at central park) the tickets were hard to come by which is why she was selling the free tickets and why I was willing to pay. Thank god It worked out...but I would never do that again.

Don't do it. I got scammed for concert tixs on craigslist. When I met the guy the tickets we're PERFECT bogus tickets.
Go with stubhub to avoid getting hurt.

There's no way of knowing, really. That's the risk you take when using CL.
That being said, I have bought AND sold tickets in the past through CL and have not had a bad experience yet. Just have to use common sense and instinct, I guess.
