Why are these infant car seats so darn hot?!
My poor 3 month old sweats so badly in her carseat. I feel so bad for her. When my older daughter was her age she did the same and I could find no solution to help. Any ideas?

no solution.. just that they are cupped into those seats. All sides are 'shielded' from good air flow. I HATED it! Finally moved onto a convertible at 6m

Same here... DS is a sweaty mess any time we go anywhere! The back of his shirt and neck are always wet when I take him out! I thought it was just the material I chose.

I know I feel so bad for my son! I tried putting the burping cloth behind his back with little results. I actually took a wet cloth the other day after his walk to cool him down. I saw on amazon breathable inserts but don't know if it's worth it!

My DC still sweat like hell in their convertible car seats. They're hair is litterally soaked, their back, etc. I feel bad but what is the solution?

DS still sweats like a beast in his convertible seat. I guess bc they are facing backwards there's no airflow??
I always throw an extra onesie or shirt in my bag and if he's really soaked I just quickly change him... Wish there was a better solution!

YEEESSSSS! I went to BBB thinking it was just my seat and was told they are all like that. I think it made DS's skin flare up.

All 3 of my boys were the same. I've started using my moby a lot when we are out. I've also been putting him In The stroller without his car seat.
I took out the infant support pads a week ago to help with the overheating.
They really should make the material breathable

I'm so glad to hear other people having the same problem. I posted a question months ago about the same thing and if I remember correctly all the reponses were from people who didnt have the same problem. I thought I was the only one. Our car seat has an insert (britax b safe) and when we took that out it made a little difference.

I have a portable fan that I clip on the car seat/stroller when it gets hot out. I got it at BBB. It helps, even if it's just to circulate the air.

DD was soaked yesterday on our way home from PA. There was a lot of traffic and she was screaming and there was nothing I can do. Ugh I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Why are these infant car seats so darn hot?!
I had the Keyfit Magic and it was very breathable. DD rarely ever sweated in it. It was breathable inserts that reverse to a warmer fabric for winter and the back of the canopy zipped open so there was a mesh panel to allow airflow. Not that it helps those that have other seats but I just wanted to share that there is a good option out there!

yes! I thought it was just us! He was in a onesie yesterday and I had the ac on but by the time we got home he was soaked!
