Where are your infant car seats installed?
I have been reading that the middle is the safest but the latch system is either on the left or right. Just wondering what BTDT moms think...

It all depends of your car. I can use latch in the center so thats where I had the car seat. If the center wasn't an option I would use the passenger side for 2 reasons. 1 - easier to peek in the back to check on them and 2 - taking the seat out while parking on the street would not be taking it into traffic.

I would double check that it is in fact a center latch. I know some minivans have them but I never heard of cars having it. I would double check and it should say in car manual. Your not suppose to use one latch from the passenger and one from the driver side.
As far as were mine are, they have always been passenger.

Ours is behind the driver's seat. I was told that is the safest spot for the baby to be in, in case of an accident.

Ours is behind the passenger seat. My cars manual says behind the either the driver or passenger, but since my car is small, when the car seat is in the front seat as to be up far.

Yeah we had our here, but I think its probably better on the passengers side. Since we park on the street everywhere were we live and go and getting baby out in the middle of a busy street is not fun on the driver's side.

When I had just one I had it on the passenger side. Since Elizabeth has sat on that side for her whole life, I put the baby behind the driver. I didn't want E to have another thing to be bent out of shape about and if she needs something while I am driving I can hand things to her, etc...

Plenty of cars have center LATCH points. That was one reason I bought my PT Cruiser in 2002. It was one of the first entry-level cars that had LATCH points, and it has three sets across the back. I can't use all three at once, but it gave us the ability to have DS in the center, and DC on either side when DD was born.

It totally depends on your car. Some do not have accomodate seats in the middle. My last car could accomodate a center position but with the 60/40 split it would have made the seat not in the "most stable" location.
So we opted for the next best position. The passenger side.
You need to read your car manual and have your carseat inspected too for peace of mind.
