How much artwork do you keep ?

How do you store it ?



If it's just a scribbly paper, I throw it out. I try not to get busted doing it.

If it's an actual project / pictures, I keep them. But they are piling up and I need a system.

I was only a daycare mom for too years so I kept everything. I have an expandable file to keep all pictures and artwork. For things like little flowers (mothers day) and spiders (halloween) I keep in a box. It's not that much. They all fit.

I keep most of it. We actually have it on one of those fed ex boxes. Perfect fit.

I even kept every single infant gram. It was very useful for my MIL when she started babysitting DS#2. She followed the exactly schedule of food and naps since both my kids were born in the same month.

I barely keep any of it She comes home with 2-3 things a day. It's just too much.

I do keep things when they do hand prints or something sentimental.

One of my projects next week is to go through all the stuff - currently...I have everything - which is way too much. DS is 3 & will come home with 10 things a day - which include a scribble on a piece of paper. I'm going to go through & get rid of most of it - including the projects that I really don't think he took that much part in.
Like the PP said - handprint things like that I will cherish!

A friend of mine takes a photo of each piece and then tosses all but her favorites. She then makes photo books with the pictures

scribbled paper i toss, i try to keep a minimum b/c i know eventually there will be so much. if it has a handprint i keep it or if it is showing progress i keep it. if the teacher helped i don't keep it. for now they are in my nighttable draw. i did buy a laminating maching on lakeside.com (not expensive) so the cute paintings dont' get ruined.

i really like the idea of taking pics of them and putting them into a photo book.

I don't keep the colored worksheets but, I keep the creative stuff. I have it in a box and plan to take pictures and do the photo book thing but, haven't gotten to it (and the creative stuff was heavily weighted in the 18-24 month class, since then, I haven't gotten a lot worth keeping).

Name and month/year the back of all them........ then your kid can see the progress... I tend to throw out the coloring sheets unless its unusally special... we keep all the creative crafts.

I did go to a scrapbooking party where they said put a bunch down on the ground, snap a picture, then you can scrap book the whole collection..

Scribble, basic fingerpainting, etc get tossed. Special projects, like with handprints and what not, go in an accordian type file thing I have. And of course some get hung up.

This is what I do. I upload them in folders according to his age and then I plan on creating a photobook with them.

I save a few of them - we framed his very first art piece and put some in his record book. Otherwise, I toss them.
