breastfeeding and sttn
my babies are 5 months old now and on a good night they will wake up only once around 3am to nurse and then go right back to sleep but most of the time they are waking up many times. One baby wakes up more than the other and if we dont get to her quickly she ends up waking the other.....any suggestions on how i can get them to sttn?
i breastfeed while at home and during the day they get formula and breastmilk i pump. Do you think BF at night is not enough to keep them full? they also get rice cereal for dinner.

I noticed a big difference in my dd waking at night when I switched to formula for night time. Around 4 1/2 months, she started waking every few hours. I couldn't take it anymore so I switched. Then at abt 6 months she slept 12 hours, and has been great ever since. Just my experience... Gl!

How old are they?
DD only gets a BM baby and has been sttn since 5 months

My DS nursed until a week before his 3rd birthday and he never slept through the night until he weaned! So that was pretty much 3 years of waking several time/night for him to nurse.

What's tour routine? My twins are combo fed too. One sttn one wakes at 4 or 5 for a quock snack bjt I'm hoping its temporary 4 month sleep regression

What helped me was actually switching to a every four hour eating routine during the day (as opposed to the every 2.5 or 3 hours we had been doing). It seems to go against logic because you would think the more often you feed them during the day, the more they'll have packed in them to get them through the night, but apparently that isn't how it works. With fewer feedings, they tend to eat more at each feeding and are therefore able to go longer stretches without eating. so they are still getting the same amount of ounces per day, they're just consuming it over fewer feedings.
Since we switched to this schedule our nights are a lot better!
Our feeding schedule is roughly 8am, 12pm, 4pm and 7:30pm (she's in her crib by 8pm).
We do the last feeding in her room, in the glider with the lights off and the sound machine on.
The book The Baby Sleep Solution really helped me, but it is annoyingly geared towards bottle-feeding moms (talks mostly in ounces). Still, I recommend it.
