Recommend your 3yr old's independent play toys
I am home with my 3yr old DS and my 10wk old who requires a lot of attention (he is EBF). My 3yr old has always been good at independent play, but the recent changes have been rough on him. Can anyone recommend some great independent-play toys that will occupy him? He has a long attention span, but has been getting frustrated with even his legos lately. I think he is just frustrated in general. TIA!

Automoblox or magnatiles are fun. Check them on amazon. If u want to get a big gift, kidcraft has a really nice white and primary color kitchen

What about a wooden block set and some small action figures that your DS can build forts, bridges, castles, or whatever for his figures. Lincoln logs.

Play kitchen trains cars
DD also likes her loving family doll house and can spend an hour playing "house" by herself.

Re: Recommend your 3yr old's independent play toys
Play doh Balloons Balls Books - he loves Mo Willems books - elephant and piggie and once I read them he is more than happy to sit there and "read" them himself.
I have to admit though that my DS is most happy when he finds some abstract thing in a drawer or around that house that is not necessarily a toy and forget it when I give him a couple of cardboard boxes - he will play all day with them. He has a huge imagination and even an imaginary friend who I have to talk to on and off during the day...and I do
My DS never sits down all day...he is literally moving and doing all day and I work from home so he amuses himself a lot and never really whines at me to play with him. He does love music too and will dance around by himself for a bit if I turn some music on.

DS will play for hours with his trains and cars and car ramps.
He has set up his car ramps in such a way that the cars launch into my laundry basket.
He also can sit for awhile and play apps on my iPad or leappad (he does this while I put the baby to bed).
