Help...15 month old climbing out of crib
Low and behold, my 15 month old climbed out of his crib this morning,,,,I'm freaking out a bit. What do I do now to stop this? He has breathable bumpers in there, which I don't think gave him much leverage and a small flat blanket. This is all. He was so proud to have gotten out, I totally see him doing it again! HELP!

Re: Help...15 month old climbing out of crib
That is a tough one. I moved my first DS to a bed at 19 months because of this. at around 16-17 month, he was standing on the edge like spiderman. Then he didn't do it again for a while, when he did it again, we moved him to a bed. Someone else may have better advice, like putting something on the crib, etc.

Either try a crib tent or transition to toddler bed. My middle child was in a twin bed at 15 months and did great. My other 2 were 17 months and 18 months when we switched to twin beds and they also did great.

Help...15 month old climbing out of crib
I'd start by taking out the bumper if you think that is what helped him climb out.
My girls are totally monkeys. They have been that way since they started walking. One sleeps with me and the other slept great in her crib. She started climbing out of it early though. She didn't use the bumper, she just threw her leg right onto the top of the crib and pulled herself over. We converted it to a toddler bed and put up a baby gate so she couldn't escape her room if she got up before us. If your crib doesn't convert you can pull the mattress out and leave it on the floor if you are worried about him falling out of a toddler bed.
Also since he will be loose, make sure that you double check the room for safety things like plugs, cords and heavy stuff he can knock down/ pull down on top of himself. And if your dresser is not anchored to the wall... make sure you anchor it. Climbers are the worst. I had to put safety locks on their dresser draws, they pull them out and climb up them. I also had to take down their blinds and remove anything that they could use as a step stool to climb up on the other furniture and shelves in the room. It's exhausting!

DS was 13 months when he climbed out. i put him in a twin bed with rails and a gate in his door. he did excellent and it was much safer for him.

If only the front of his crib is low you can try turning it around so the front is now against the wall.
