Owners of City Select + Bassinet Please Help

So we just purchased our City Select with the Bassinet attachment.

We cannot get the snaps to close - there is one snap in particular that seems to be too close to the other one and there is no amount of forcing that will get it into place.

The regular seat fabric fits fine, so I think the issue is with the bassinet attachment.

Did anyone else ever have this problem?

I am thinking of trying to exchange the bassinet but wanted to make sure I'm not doing something stupid or to see if this was a common problem - I am thinking it was manufactured wrong, like a few centimeters off.

It is very hard to snap I remember having a lot of difficulty with it but eventually my dh got it
