tooth rot--is there any way around this?
DD is 10 months old and most nights has a really hard time falling asleep without her bottle (some nights she will not take the bottle and on those nigts its a total PIA to get her to sleep) but I am concerned about the issue of tooth rot as I generally brush her teeth (she has two) before her last bottle.. is there anything I could/should do to prevent harming her teeth ? (besides not giving her that last bottle right before bed)?

Are you letting her sleep with the bottle in her mouth? That is a lot worse than not brushing after the last bottle.

DS used to fall asleep during his last bottle too. I used to take a wet washcloth or paper towel and try to wipe down his teeth as best as I could before putting him to bed. As we transitioned to milk I started moving the past bottle time up a little. When we replaced the last bottle with a straw cup of milk I changed around his bedtime routine so I was brushing his teeth after his milk.

How about giving her the bottle before brushing teeth, then giving her a bottle of water with bedtime?
