Stopped breastfeeding and want to continue
I stopped breastfeeding about 2 days ago because I started taking diet pills to lose the weight that I have gained. I now feel terrible about my decision and would like to start breast feeding again . How long should I wait before I start again? Should I pump and dump?

I would check with your doctor about this. You can pump to get your supply going again but I would do anything with the milk without consulting the doctor.

I agree witht he pp. You want to make sure the medication is out of you system before you start to breastfeed again. I think you could even ask your pharmacist.

Start bf right away. It is most likely those drugs are out of your system by now.

I would pump and dump for now to keep the supply up and check with the doctor about when to start breastfeeding.

check out kellymom.com to check and se if your pills are compatible. also check out longislandbreastfeeding.com if you want professional help. i'd start pumping asap to get your supply going again. good luck!!!
