Shortness of breath

I am almost 10 weeks with twins. I feel like all of a sudden I'm breathing kind of heavy, almost like shortness of breath and taking big deep breathes.

Is this normal? Anyone experience this?

That's when it started for me along with chest pain. I went to the gp who did an ekg which was normal but he wanted me to go to a cardio to do that test where it checks your hr all day. But I never did it.
Apparently it's normal for twins since you have an immense amount of blood rushing through your body now.

Eta 30 weeks and I'm still short or breath.

Re: Shortness of breath

yeah i'm not carrying twins but at 14 weeks it started for me and they caught 7,000 skipped heart beats in 24 hours with a heart monitor so now they are trying me on magnesium before they try beta blockers .. apparently your body carries 30-50% more blood when your pregnant and your heart works harder .. does it happen more when you are relaxed?

Re: Shortness of breath

Hi..I am having twins as well, and i have had a lot of issues with shortness of breath. I have not been worried about it, as I think its quite common, esp. with twins in there...but of course, discuss with Dr.

I'm not having twins; but I'm 27 weeks; and have noticed this laterly. I just feel like sometimes at night when I lay down I'm not catching my breath completely.
