vacation with 3mo??
I posted this on the families board but thought i would post here too.
DH and I want to do a short vacation in the next few weeks and I was wondering if it would be a bad Idea to go to the Capital sightseeing with a 3 mo old.
And if anyone has any recommendations for where to stay with a baby.
It will be our first trip with her and I want to be prepared and not a nervous mother.
TIA

Re: vacation with 3mo??
That age is the easiest to do vacationing with. They can't run away and pretty much stay in their carseat and stroller the whole time taking everything in. Good luck! Just pack enough.

Re: vacation with 3mo??
We drove 7 hours to Virginia and then for to Florida while DS was 3 months. Those were probably the easiest trips with him. He slept almost the entire time, it was great!

Re: vacation with 3mo??
We went when DS was 4 months. It was very easy & a lot of fun. There is a lot of walking & all the museums are free... so there is a lot of time you can spend without racking up a huge bill.
As for where to stay: any hotel that has a liberal cancellation policy (you never know). Most do. I'd say if you stay close to the White house, there are many restaurants and everything is an easy walk. We look for fancy hotels at super-discount prices... last time, we got a great one at Sofitel. I find that pretty much any hotel is baby friendly.
However, we tried to do a vacation to Newport, RI when DD was 3 months & she screamed the whole, entire time for no reason. She's a very peaceful child normally.
You need to feel out your kid.

We schlepped Cailen everywhere at 3 months! We even camped in a tent with him for 10 days!

Re: vacation with 3mo??
thanks everyone! I am going to book the trip and see how it goes. DD is pretty laid back and I think it would be fun to get out there and see everything. I will look into the Sofitel I think DH mentioned that one.

Same here. DD was 2 months but it was only for 4 days. It's easy to travel right now, just be prepared with extra diapers and clothes and you should be good. I bring DD's bouncy seat with us when we travel... this might make the hotel time easier for you. Have fun and enjoy!
