I give you SAHM's lots of credit
I CANNOT do what you do!!!! I am on week 7 of my summer vacation and I am starting to really want to go back to work!!!! I find that I have more "quality" time with DS when I work, then when I don't!!!! I am even contemplating hiring a babysitter one day a week for the next two weeks just so I can have some time by myself!!!!!!!

I give you SAHM's lots of credit
LOL!!! My friend says the same thing. Come Monday mornings, she runs out of the house HAHA.
It's monotonous work but making the best of every situation is necessary. I give you credit for working and maintaining a household! I can barely take care of my house and I'm SAHM!

I'm a ptwm & I think that ftwm are superwomen. How in the world you get everything done is beyond me. I can barely take a shower on the days I'm home.

Re: I give you SAHM's lots of credit
Funny! I was going to write the same post last week. I am on summer "vacation" too and August has been a long month! My husband is working crazy overtime, my parents are away for the month so I don't have any help.
I give SAHM alot of credit especially those whose husbands work long hours. The days can be very long. I find the more we go out and do things the easier it is. The days I stay home all day are torture!

I agree with this!!!
I am a FTWM but was home this summer on maternity leave with a newborn (obviously) and an almost three year old.
We got into a rhythm and I managed pretty well... except for the nights when DH would not get home until 7 or later. To be the primary caregiver all morning, all day, and then at night was just too much!

Re: I give you SAHM's lots of credit
I briefly flirted with the idea of being a SAHM last week. My kids totally beat me up this past weekend. Going to work on Monday was SUCH a break.

OMG I could have written this! I'm always asking my husband where I should take the kids today and he's always like, just stay home. I CAN'T! I feel like the day drags, we are all bored and we get frustrated. I so much more enjoy going out and doing things. SAHM, you are amazing!

Re: I give you SAHM's lots of credit
I hear you. I am home for the summer and today was a doozy. Liam cried and whined allllll day. I was so done when DH got home at 7.
I feel like I have to get him out of the house everyday because he gets nuts. But, that is tiring. It's one thing in the summer but, it must get bad in the winter.

Re: I give you SAHM's lots of credit
I am a SAHM and I am embarrassed to say that the sales clerks at the mall and Tanger Outlets recognized me and chatted with me because I was such a regular. LOL. And the librarians all chat with me and my DS because we are there so much!
The only way to survive is to get out of the house everyday.

I'd give anything to be able to SAH with my little girl. I dread the idea of leaving her to go back in 2 weeks. It breaks my heart

I give you SAHM's lots of credit
i wasnt planning on being a SAHM but sh*t happened with work and i have been home with DD for 15m (her whole life). i HAVE to go back to work financially, but i have absolutely ZERO desire. i do keep thinking how hard it will be in the winter if we have to stay in all day (we HATE staying in all day). but last winter was a breeze and i just can't imagine not being with her all day. i always thought id be one of those people that wanted to work, but i really absolutely do not. i cant imagine caring about work ever again!!!

Re: I give you SAHM's lots of credit
I am a SAHM and have always said, I give the FTWM so much credit. I don't know how you get everything done.
The key for us is to get out of the house at least once a day. My DD recieves EI services, but, we are done by noon everyday. We eat lunch and then head out. It breaks up the day and it's nice for my kids to have playdates. My DS likes to walk around Target (the toy aisle, LOL) so, we do that, we go to the library, park, bowling, and open plays.

I bought DD a minnie mouse umbrella and rainboots for this reason! haha When it is raining (not thunderstorms) we walk around the block with our umbrellas just to get out for like 15-20 minutes!
I'm a PTWM and I agree the day is so much better when you get out of the house.
