Speaking of Organic Milk
Does it last longer once opened? DD has dropped her milk consumption considerably- to the point where I used to buy gallons, then I dropped to half gallons, and now quarts.
And I find that the milk does NOT last lately. It seems to go bad so fast.
Does organic milk last longer once opened? If so, I may switch to it, considering she is not drinking much, and I end up pouring half of it down the drain because it goes bad before she finishes it. So it's not very cost effective anymore.
What do you think?

Re: Speaking of Organic Milk
The expiration date is def a lot longer (I just bought some that doesn't expire for another month or so) bc it is ultrapasteurized but I think once you open it, it says use within 7 days.

Re: Speaking of Organic Milk
Ulta pasturized milk is dead milk, it wont last long at all, its like steralized formula
Pasturized will last longer and depends on company, mine lasts 1.5 weeks, brand is Natural by Nature
Friend of ours drink raw milk, lasts them 2 weeks, and they love it sour, aparently sour milk, when comes from raw has benefits akin to yogurt
Problem when you pasturize you kill good and bad bacteria... good bacteria actually preserve the milk

Re: Speaking of Organic Milk
I always buy organic milk, and it defintely lasts much longer than regular milk. In the warmer months, though, generally milk has a shortened life span because it comes off the truck and doesn't go into a refrigerator, it goes into the supermarket stock room until shelved in the refrigerated section. The only exception I know of is Dairy Barn - where the milk goes from a refrigerated truck directly into a refrigerator.

Speaking of Organic Milk
the expiration date is longer but if you read the box it says once opened it has to be used within 7 days. Our milk is always used before that anyway so we never had a problem but I usually write the date of when I opened it on the container.
