speaking of milk....
should I be drinking some everyday?
I hate milk and it just occurred to me that it's prob a good idea to have some for the baby daily, I guess I could do chocolate skim milk.

Yes! The baby needs calcium to build its bones. So if you don't drink milk, make sure you're getting enough calcium from other stuff!

Re: speaking of milk....
Thanks!! I'm beginning to think my dr. is in her own world, she doesn't tell me what I should eat/drink or avoid.
Gonna start drinking chocolate milk tomorrow morning

Re: speaking of milk....
I absolutely hate milk as well!! I put chocolate in it. Just dont get the sugar free or low fat bc those have the artificial sugar. I have also put the strawberry syrup in it. I also eat cheese and organic yogurt. I have horrible heart burn so I take tums alot! They have calcium as well....

Re: speaking of milk....
I feel like I get enough calcium from milk in my cereal, cheese and yogurt so I don't really stress drinking milk straight. Especially since I hate it.

Re: speaking of milk....
Calcium is definitely important. I read that if mom-to-be doesn't get enough, the baby will take it from other sources of the body and due to this some pregnant women might start to get brittle bones or lose their teeth. That horrified me, so even though I don't like milk AT ALL I do force down at least a cup a day. You could get some healthy chocolate powder full of nutrients to add to it. Other ways that i get the calcium in is with a yogurt each morning & a protein drink with my lunch (like an Ensure or Slimfast).

I remember reading that drinking milk while pregnant could reduce the chances of multiple sclerosis later in life for the baby!
I am a milk drinker anyway, so I drank a lot of it regardless.. but it's good to know it has an added benefit! I'll do the same next time around. I often make chocolate milk with low fat chocolate syrup. Hershey's makes a good one!

Re: speaking of milk....
I am not a milk drinker but I know its good for baby so I have been making smoothies with skim milk (and yogurt, banana and whatever other fruit I have on hand) every day. They are soooo yummy and very nutritious.

you can get calcium from other sources besides milk -- cheese, yogurt, veggies, etc. just google.

Re: speaking of milk....
I used to love milk but now it kinda grosses me out. So I bought Skim Plus Chocolate Milk and it's delicious!! I have also bought the brand Over The Moon Chocolate Milk which is the same as Skim Plus.

I think I might be better off eating low-fat cheeses and ice cream and yogurt. Just the thought of drinking milk makes me gag....with the chocolate milk I'm afraid of too much sugar.
Thanks
