Re: What time does your 2 year old go to bed?
At age 2 DD was in bed every night by 8 and fell right asleep. She is just about 4 now and since giving up her nap a few months ago she gets tired earlier so now she is in bed usually between 7 and 7:15 on most nights. She always slept until between 7:30 and 8:30 in the morning.

ds is 29 months and was going to bed at 8 every night, then regressed a bit making his bedtime later & later. we cut down his nap time to an hour, sometimes less, sometimes no nap, and he's back closer to 8:30 these days.

does your DD get enough sleep during the night? does she wake up at all during the night? does she nap enough during the day? those are the things that really matter when it comes to sleep, i think anyway.
DS (23 months) goes to be around 9. sometimes he's out by 9:15, other times he's out by 10:15. i'm fine with that. all that matters is that he sleeps. He sleeps through the night, wakes up between 7-8am. takes a nap, sometimes two during the day. He's happy, he's thriving. at this point he will tell us when he needs sleep. Literally walk into his room, take his stuffed animal, say good night mommy, curl up on his bed and fall asleep.
Yes. She sleeps great. All through the night without waking. She will go to bed around 9- sometimes a little later. Never later than 930. She wakes up anytime between 7 and 830 am- it differs ever day. Sometimes she takes a 2 hour nap- sometimes no nap. Again- it varies. I know when she is ready for bed- she will say yes, when asked if she is ready for bed, grab her blanket and bear and walk into her room. I just thought maybe 9 pm was too late, but reading these responses, I can see that it's right in the middle of the road.
Honestly I think the problem is she has all the control. At 2, they should be getting about 11-12 hours of sleep a night. Parents should also have their free time. My kids are 3.5 and when they were two went to bed around 7. Now it is between 7-8, but I always determine when its time for bed. If they give me any crap, I say sorry Mommy is teh boss and its bed time. Continue this behavior and we will not be able to read a story. Put her in bed wen you think its appropriate. Then leave. if she cries, she cries. She'll get it eventually
