If you have a specific hospital where you want to deliver....
How do you know you'll actually deliver there if you dr delivers at more then one hospital?

You have to choose the hospital you're delivering at prior to your due date. Your paperwork is filled out for that hospital and that is the hospital you're doctor will expect you at when you go into delivery.
When I had my DD I had the choice of Stony Brook University Hospital and St. Charles. I chose St. Charles and when I made arrangements for my C-section that is the hospital my doctor scheduled at.

This.. but i think if your Dr is already delivering at another hospital when you go into labor they will make you go to that hospital instead of having you go to yours

This. My doctor is affiliated with 2 hospitals, and if he is already at the hospital that I did not choose when I go into labor, then that is where I have to go.
ETA: I do belong to a practice with only one doctor, whom I love. I was originally at a practice with multiple doctors and was not comfortbale with not knowing who was going to be with me when I delivered my baby. Makes senses that if you have multiple doctors, and dont have a definite delivery doctor then you will be able to go to your 1st choice hopsital. I personally would rather go to my second choice hospital with the doctor that I see and trust.

This. My doctor is affiliated with 2 hospitals, and if he is already at the hospital that I did not choose when I go into labor, then that is where I have to go.
I guess it's different depending on how many doctors are in the practice. (I didn't think of that at first) I had a main OB that I loved but there were probably 8-10 doctors in the practice and there was someone scheduled to be at both hospitals ALL the time so for me, there was no way I would have to worry about not delivering at the hospital of my choice.
I guess if you're not part of a big practice then you are at the mercy of wherever your doctor is scheduled that day.

I'm surprised I didn't think of this sooner. I keep saying where I'm going to deliver never realizing that it may depend on where the dr. is at that time....more things to think about
