small toy recommendations for plane

We are flying to CA at the end of the month. I'm looking for some suggestions on small toys that I can buy and bring out. DS is 2. We have our IPAD and a laptop as well. The IPad will be loaded with some new apps. DH's aunt said we should wrap small toys that he can open too. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I'm getting anxious b/c this will be his first time flying.

The travel Magnadoodle was a big hit with DS. Also - I usually pack a ton of snacks (I like the ones that come in cups since they don't squish as much and DS has fun with the container as well). I bring him coloring books and crayons and the little people books with all of the flaps. I tried Mr Potato head once and it was difficult for us - he dropped all of the parts and I had to scramble to get them.

He loves playing with the IPad too - I have a couple of apps for him and usually download his favorite shows to have in a pinch.

I received tegu blocks as a gift- they're cube and flat rectangle shaped magnetic blocks- 4 of each and they cone ib a pouch no bigger than your hand. . I give them to our little guy only when we go out to a restaurant He loves them
