Two nights in a row now
I've been woken up by horrific calf cramps. My poor DH wakes up and stretches it out for me but I keep scaring the sh*t out of him by waking up gasping and grabbing the back of my calf. haha

I get this too. I have to stand up and flex my heel on the floor to make it stop. It's not so easy when you are tangled up in blankets.

charlie horse is the worse!!!!!!!!!!!! I had it and I though I was going to die.
Get some potassium in your diet. Once I had to cut back on my banana intake because of gd thats when it came. Now I'm allowed to have 1 large and 1 small banana a day and it hasnt happened again

You need to drink more water. It happens to me when I don't drink enough. They hurt like hell. I keep water at night next to the bed cause I hate them so much.

Tomatoes are a great source of potassium. Better than bananas!

Re: Two nights in a row now
one thing I learned from these lovely night cramps is to not stretch pointing your feet, the minute I catch myself pointing my feet, I feel the charlie horse starting! You have to stretch from your heels instead....it helps me get a little stretch in without the horrible pain of a charlie horse

Re: Two nights in a row now
ugh. i used to get those from dehydration. and not only do they hurt in the moment, but then i'm limping all day!
anyway, when you get them, try to flex your toes back to your shins. that's the only way i've been able to get immediate relieve the pain.

Re: Two nights in a row now
Ugh, I had them last pregnancy.. once I started drinking a lot of water they subsided. This time I'm plagued by restless leg syndrome!!
