SB BF Class VENT!!

Stony Brook is giving me such anxiety right now!! I am so upset, angry and frazzled with them. I guess it is mostly pregnancy hormones, but my anxiety just sky rocketed. Here is the deal:

I wanted to take a breastfeeding class. In March, I called for info about the breastfeeding class and was trying to register for the April class. When I talked to someone and got info about it, they convinced me to instead of doing the april date, doing the may date because she thought that may would be best for us and I agreed. So I told her I'd do the May date and she said OK.

She had all my info but I called and registered for the May breastfeeding class anyway, just to re-confirm. I got a call back and spoke to someone (in person) confirming this... they confirmed that i was bringing my husband, that I needed money for parking and that I was supposed to meet at the piano in the lobby at 6:50.

Well I never got the actual hospital address and I just wanted the actual address so I could get there efficiently, so I called the number back to ask.

Well, I missed the call and when I went to check my voicemail... the woman was SO RUDE in the message claiming that we were not registered and she has no idea why i assume i am... and said "but we do have spots available still so you can call back and give us your info" (which i already gave them 3 times actually- I gave her my full information to call me back this time!).

Well I called back and of course its voicemail (like always) and i said listen here is my name my husbands name and I spelled it out for them. I said WE WILL be at the class this wed... here is my phone number. I told them my due date. I added at the end of the message that I was told to bring money for parking and to meet at the piano. Is there anything else I should know? And literally left the message like that.

Like WTF!!??!!??

So if we went and showed up, they'd be like you're not registered? I can't believe how annoying and embarrassing that would be.

But there is space anyway so whats the problem?? They STILL haven't called me back today with information or to confirm that I am actually registered or anything... I mean we already planned to go to this and made arrangements to do so... I am not, not showing up. so at this point i feel like going on wed NO MATTER WHAT and standing at that piano... lol

Am I wrong here? What should I do? It is bothering me that I am not getting a call back and that now they can potentially call me back and give me a different story (like just don't come, or we want you to come at a later month, or now you can't bring your husband, or who knows what they'll say)...

Just go, don't sweat it. Show up like you're set to. Don't worry about a call back. Don't worry about if they have your name down. Just go, take the class, and RELAX!!!!!!! And don't you DARE be embarrassed if for some strange reason they don't have your info. NO ONE WILL BLINK AN EYE or think anything's wrong with you if that happens too!!!!

Some people who are supposed to work in customer service really couldn't care less about other people. Don't let that phase you!

Try not to let them get you so anxious about their own b.s.

I totally agree with you. I'd be pissed did you happen to get a name of the person you confirmed all your info with? If not its okay that woman had no right to be nasty. I'm sorry your going thru this nonsense good luck
