guilty of the most serious...bias intimation.

I thought it was not guilty of bias intimidation?

What about the tampering charges?

This guy seemed like he could have cared less about Tyler dying. I mean, he fell asleep during the trial and his lawyer had to wake him up!

Imagine trying to deal with your sexuality at that age and not wanting to come out and afraid of the responses and views of others and then for someone that you live with to video tape you... I can't imagine the torment he felt after that. I hope this is a wake up call to bullies out there and how your actions and words can really hurt others.

I was too. But he was charged with it.
From what they are saying it's because TYLER felt he was intimidated and not that Ravi intended it that way.

At least that's what I'm getting from the news reports right now.

There were a few charges of "bias intimidation". From the view of Ravi and the view of Tyler. And since TYLER interpreted that what, he was charged from that point of view.

They are reporting incorrectly. This is what is confusing:

Indian-born Dharun Ravi, 20, could face 10 years in prison when he's sentenced. He shook his head slightly after the guilty verdicts were read for all 15 counts, including bias intimidation, a hate crime, and invasion of privacy.

He wasn't guilty of bias intimidation according the CNN's newsfeed.

He was.
From the view that TYLER interrupted as intimidation. Not that RAVI meant it that way.

Very confusing.

He was charged with Not Guilty from the view of Ravi. Meaning he didn't do it for that reason.

The comments on the nj.com page disturb me.

Sadly, he'll go back to India and go about his life in a normal manner. It's not like India is some horrific place, and it sounds like he is from a well off family based on his comments about Clementi being "poor".

me too
what a tragedy. I think of how embarrassed & horrified he must have been, to take his own life. So sad.
I'm glad this jerk was found guilty.

As the degree of crime increases, so does the penalty.

I don't know if that's what they'll do. I'm not sure how it works. They may jail him for a time & then deport him.
