Re: Peanut Butter

My doctor didn't tell me not to, so I have been. I love peanut butter, and since I rarely eat tuna or cold cuts while pregnant (even though my dr. is okay with cold cuts once per week), it makes an easy lunch. I think there are some who feel that it can cause an allergy in the babies, but I don't believe that belief is widely held.

Re: Peanut Butter

I ate peanut butter sandwiches all the time while I was pregnant, it was one of the few things that didn't make me nauseous. DS is perfectly healthy - enjoy your peanut butter!! Chat Icon

Re: Peanut Butter

I've had it quite a few times. Just yesterday actually. Im sure it's ok. I would think the nuts would be good for you if anything.

I've heard the allergy thing too. But I have PB&J sandwiches a lot for lunch because I have no idea what else to eat, lol. Salads havent been agreeing with me lately. I also have those little pb sandwich crackers for a snack sometimes. I just want to make sure I'm not doing any harm.

i had heard about the allergy thing too so i asked my OB and she said that PB is actually really good for pregnancies because it has a good amount of protein and whatnot.

So enjoy Chat Icon

ps: i've been spreading PB on apple slices lately. It's soooo good!

Re: Peanut Butter

I ate PB sandwiches a lot in the beginning but then they started making me sick. I don't think Chat Icon likes PB very much, so I stopped eating it. But I love PB so if it didn't make me sick, I would still be eating it as I haven't heard otherwise.

Re: Peanut Butter

My sister hate PB throughout both her pregnancies and it was fine. It is almost all she ate. Neither of my nieces have a PB allergy. In fact, it is practically all they eat now.

I ate it plenty with my first pregnancy as well. DC is not allergic. He hates it though.

Re: Peanut Butter

With both pregnancies, I have had peanut butter most days. I avoided it for the first 2 months of BFing DS, but decided that since there was no family history of nut allergies, it wasn't worth it to avoid it. DS has no food allergies.
