Acknowledging BIG gifts at the Shower...
Good morning ladies!
Okay so DH and I are so fortunate that our parents are purchasing our entire nursery set for us. & I found out last week that 1 of my grandmother's is purchasing our Glider, which is amazing... so my questions is- what do people do at the shower to acknowledge the big gifts that you won't be opening there? I was going to just kind've at the end of gift opening stand up and say thank you for the individual items, but I want to do something more... is it weird to maybe print out the nursery and the glider and put the pictures in frames and put it on display for people to see? & then with a little note next to it thanking out parents/grandma for getting those gifts? KWIM?
What do you guys think? TIA!

I think printing the pictures out and acknowledging them that way is an awesome idea!! Im sure they would love that!

DH Dad and step mom bought our entire nursery of furniture. We printed pics and put them in frames for the shower. I too felt that they needed to be recognized!

I dont think theres anything wrong with printing them out to acknowledge them. Actually every baby shower I have been to, they passed the pictures around of the furniture that was purchased by the mom or grandma... I thought it was cute... Usually the mom or grandma put the pic in a card or something and the girl would open it when opening presents and then pass the picture around. I thought it was sweet o acknowledge them.

That's a great idea! I didn't do that but thinking back, that would have been nice. After opening all the gifts, i announced that my MIL bought us our dressers and my dad bought our cribs.

ils paid for all of our furniture too and i did the pictures and she was so happy to see them acknowledged. my mom and sister paid for my shower and i stood up and thanked them at the end for throwing the whole thing too.

The people who got big gifts still gave me a card at the shower and then wrapped a frame with a picture of the item in the frame.

That is what my friend did.
this is what I did as well. My parents bought us the crib, mattress, bedding, highchair, monitor, car seat base but they only brought the bedding to the shower as well as some clothes. After opening those I announced the other items they bought for us.
