NEVER been to Disney...looking to take my 2 girls on a trip in March....

I know, it's soon...want to take the fam around March 15th...I know it won't be cheap booking this late in the game, but is it completely crazy to go this time of year? I've never been, as I'm not really into it, but I have a 4.5 year old DD and a 7 month old DD.

Is now a good time to go?

Can I just buy a "princess pass" lol....all my 4.5 year old wants to do is princess-related stuff.

Also...this might sound totally crazy, but DH and I ideally want a place that we can get babysitters who are safe so we can go out some nights without the kids. What are some really nice places to stay where we can get a suite so the girls can stay in one room and DH and I have our own?

I am totally Disney clueless...help please!

Hi!

Not TOTALLY crazy, but you will need some good planning and a good TA.

I would suggest staying in a suite or a 1BR Villa.

The following hotels have kids clubs you can make use of to drop your kids off : Polynesian Resort, Yacht Club and Beach Club, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the Grand Floridian.

A Villa would be great for you since DC can sleep in a separate bedroom and you'll also have a full kitchen. I can see what's available if you'd like.

As far as the Princess treatment, I'd recommend making an appointment at Bibbidi Boppity Boutique. Your little Princess can pick a princess gown and even get her hair and nails done like her favorite Princess.

Thank you so much! I would love to know what's available for a villa. Yeah, I definitely need someone to help me plan.

Grand Floridian and Polynesian I believe have babysitting services. Not sure which have suites though.

We have used the Neverland Club twice at the Poly and my daughter LOVES it! She still talks about it! You do not need to be a guest of the Poly to utilize it either. But your child does need to be 3 for the kids clubs, and I think you have a little one. There is a service that will come to your room. Fairy Godmothers or Kids Night Out, I can't remember which one it is. Allearsnet.com probably has the info.

Animal Kingdom Lodge and Saratoga Springs both have 1 Bedroom Villas left.

No suites left on the monorail, but there are some regular rooms available, including theme park view, but you would not have a separate living space.

I'd go for AKL. It's really a beautiful resort

Jennifer I could be wrong but the kids clubs don't take children under 3 or 4. I know that the unofficial guide does list some baby sitter services that can be used in room - I bet you could find them on allearsnet.com or disboards.com

I agree that you might be able to pull it off - but a lot of things you want might be booked so you might want to see if you can book them 1st before you finalize your plans.

If they love princess things - here is a list - some are VERY expensive others are more reasonable.

Grand Floridian has a princess tea. It is very expensive just a warning.

Bibbity boppity boutique - 2 locations one in the MK and on in downtown disney. They do hair and make up and you can even get a package that includes a dress.

2 meals - Akershus - in Norway - serves breakfast lunch and dinner. You get a photo with a princess and then 4 different one come to your table. Cinderella's castle is a great experience as well. That books VERY early - you may have more luck with Akershus - but you might luck out with a cancellation last minute for the castle.

You would probably like EPCOT - my girls love world showcase. Mulan is in China, Snow white in Germany, Aurora and belle over by France, Jasmine and Aladdin are in Morocco.

There are also opportunities to meet the princesses in MK. But I find the lines are usually much longer and it is easier to see them at EPCOT.

You will see many little girls in princess dresses around the parks - so feel free to let your DD wear one as much as she wants.

As far as rooms - not sure what will be left at this late date. But if you want a separate room you will want to go with one of the disney Villas. The closest to MK would be bay lake towers or Wilderness lodge - but there are several others because I can see them being booked for that time.

Do you need to travel this week? If not I would recommend holding off for a bit until end of April or early May. You will have much better success getting into the restaurants you want, the princess activities you want and even the hotel rooms that you want.

I know you said you want 2 separate rooms - but if you can't get that and want something princess - there are brand new Royal guest rooms that are princess themed at Port Orleans Riverside hotel.

Lilly is right. In all my excitement, i didn't notice the ages. With a 7.5 month old, you have to use Kids Nite Out, not the Simba clubs, etc.

I think at this point, CRT is going to be difficult, if not impossible to get, but Akershus is a possibility. I'd have to check.

The Princess M&G at MK has Fastpass, which can be a blessing, but Rapunzel does not, and if your DD wants to see her, you'll have to get there are rope drop or wait over an hour, sad to say.

If you wait, you will have some more choices, that is for sure. Also, mid-March is spring break season so the crowds and prices are higher.

If you are considering late April/Early May and can put down your $200 deposit by Feb 28th. there's an offer for up to 30% off.

I would not go back in march - i would go in may much less crowded - went week before memorial day and it was not crowded at all - march was madness - so many schools have spring break and lots of cheerleading competitions

but i went last in march i planned it two weeks out but that was prekids so i was not too particular on when we ate

I was only thinking that maybe if she keeps trying there might be a cancellation as long as she isn't picky about the date or time. I know people who got CRT that way. But you kind of have to take what you can get and not be choosy.

BTW if she really wants to see Cinderella - another choice is 1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian. The dinner ONLY - has cinderella, the prince, stepmother and step sisters. Just a warning they do stay very much in character though so that can be a problem for some kids.

We went last year when dh was on a work trip and stayed at the yacht club in a 2 bedroom suite. It was amazing - master bedroom, kids bedroom, living room, sitting room and kitchen. No idea the cost bc his work paid and I'm sure it was high but it was amazing and super cnvienent. They might have smaller knees too. We loved the hotel bc we cold walk to epcot. Sophie loved princesses so we did the Princess dinner at Norway In epcot which was great. And we ate in cinerdellas castle which was very cool. Have so much fun!!!!
