If your child was pulling to stand by 7 mos...
when did they start walking? I've heard some babies start walking by 10 mos and don't know if thats what I can expect with my son. I know every baby is different...just want to see if majority of early standers were early walkers too or if one had nothing to do with the other

Re: If your child was pulling to stand by 7 mos...
My DD was an early stander and she walked just shy of 9 months old. She started with one or two unassisted steps- then within 2 days it was full on walking. She took off and that was it.

My dd was holding on a cruising at 7 months and walked by 10 months. I think it really depends on the kid.

Re: If your child was pulling to stand by 7 mos...
My dd pulled up to a stand at 7 months. Started cruising by 8 months. Now at just 14 months she finally started taking unassisted steps and is on our her to full blown walking now. My dd was very cautious and scared to let go. She would go from one piece of furniture to another. She would climb the stairs. Climb up onto the couch. But was petrified to walk unassisted. So you just never know

Re: If your child was pulling to stand by 7 mos...
DD was pulling up to a stand during her 6 month and standing unassisted for short periods of time at 7 months. She took her first steps days shy of 9 months. During that month, she just took steps, going a little further each time. And then by 10 months, bam, she was off and running.

Re: If your child was pulling to stand by 7 mos...
Both my girls were cruising around toys and furniture at 6 and 6.5 months (pulling up to standing on furniture 5.5-6 months). DD#1 was walking in my book officially 10 months (at 9-9.5 she would take 2-3 steps without holding anything but didn't walk across the room not holding anything until 10 months).
DD#2 on the other hand was a VERY cautious child. She didn't walk without holding onto one of my fingers or running a finger down the wall until 13 months (she would practically run holding your finger though) - the ped told us at her 10 month visit she "could" walk on her own but it was probably because she was too cautious (she was doing some unassisted walking on grass at 11 months - but ONLY on grass, then carpets around 11.5-12 - but not completely until 13 months - so I say she walked at 13 months).
Honestly I think it is the child because I see some children pull up, cruise and start walking in one month - and others take MANY months.

Re: If your child was pulling to stand by 7 mos...
Mine sat unassisted from about 4.5 months and pulled to standing around 7 months, but didn't take unassisted steps until just before his first birthday and didn't take off until just shy of 13 months.

Re: If your child was pulling to stand by 7 mos...
well DD was cruising and pulling to stand up from 8 months but didnt crawl or walk until 12 months...just after her 1st birthday party. I think she was able to get around the whole house cruising or pushing toys so she saw no need to walk! actually, she is a bit cautious and it took her awhile to feel comfortable to let go, after cruising for so long. DS is turning 7 months tomorrow and he is standing at the coffee table now but not too steady and not pulling up or actually cruising but I Have a feeling he will follow DDs timeline. I am scared to have a mobile baby again!

Re: If your child was pulling to stand by 7 mos...
Sounds like our house. DD was standing at 7 mths and walking by the time she was 8.5 mths. She is a second child so I think watching her older brother had something to do with it. I will tell you she started standing on chairs, her ride on car (the seat) and the seat of her rocking horse by the time she was 11 mths. She is a daredevil!
I should have added by 12 mths she and her brother were chasing each other around the house. It seems like she has ALWAYS been walking.

Re: If your child was pulling to stand by 7 mos...
My DD crawled (real crawling) by 6 months, pulling by 7 months, cruising by 8 mos but then she slowed down. She started taking her first real steps the end of her 10th month. She is a week shy of her 1st birthday and walking. Doing well and can walk from room to room and such but still falls a lot! But she likes to climb too! She stands on anything she can!
Her older brother crawled later (at like 8 mos), pulled up (at late 7mos/8mos) but walked when he turned 11 months and was runniing in a week!! He wa super steady, super fast!

My son pulled himself up to stand early and was an early walker. He took his first steps unassisted right after he was 9 months and was fully walking by 10 months-old.

Re: If your child was pulling to stand by 7 mos...
My son started pulling to stand around 8 months and as soon as he learned that, he started cruising. By 10 months, he could take 2 or 3 steps on his own. But he didnt walk until 14 months. Every kid is different.

Re: If your child was pulling to stand by 7 mos...
DD pulled herself up around 8 months, was cruising at 9 months and full fledged walking at 10.5 months. I think it was 10 months when she used to stand unassisted for a few seconds at a time. Then she would take one step, or two steps, then 2 weeks after that she walked across the room.
DS is 7.5 months and trying to pull himself up in the PNP. I think he might walk when she did because he wants to catch up to her!

Re: If your child was pulling to stand by 7 mos...
DS could stand next to the couch at 5 months, pulled himself up to a standing position at 7 months and was run/walking by the time he turned 11 months. He only crawled from month 9 to month 10 1/2. He cruised from 10 1/2 until 11 months.
DD on the other hand did not walk until she was 17 1/2 months old. She crawled from months 9 to month 17 1/2.

Re: If your child was pulling to stand by 7 mos...
Ds1 pulled to standing and cruising just after 9 months...which isn't early, but within 5 weeks he was a full time walker. His personality isn't to practice doing something but rater watch and observe until he can do it perfect.
DS 2 started pulling up and cruising by 7m. But he prefers crawling. He doesn't have any desire to really walk yet and he will be 10 m this weekend.
