What can I take for a cough??

I know if I call my doc, they will tell me nothing. They cover their azzes like that.

What have you been given the ok for?

Sorry, I took nothing except fluids (tea, etc.).

I had a cough for MONTHS. Thought it was a pneumonia after a while (even went to see a pulmonologist who recommended nothing except for antacids to deal with the reflux component).

I was told I could take Mucinex - not the one with Decongestant - the regular one.

I was told Robitusson if you really need it.

I would try water with lemon consistently. Drink TONS of water every single day and always keep lemon in it because when your sick you can quickly become dehydrated.
Try hot water with Lemon at least once a day as well, even add honey if you dont mind honey.
Sleep with a humidifier and when you take a shower steam the bathroom up before you go in. It will help loosen the cough... Ive heard you can rub vicks on your chest too I believe.

I have been using Vicks rub on my chest, taking Robotussin (regular), she said I could take tylenol (regular) and I believe Sudafed was the other. Give your ob a call anyway. There is still stuff you can take.

Oh and like the PP, a humidifier worked great! I set the one up we got for the baby. Its Vicks brand and really helped me sleep.

To be honest, if it's not bad, I would wait it out & drink hot tea & use a humidifier. Maybe even take a little honey to soothe your throat.

We can take robotussin but not DM.
