not losing weight after miscarriage

Wasn't sure what to title this thread...
I was pregnant for about 8 weeks - had a miscarriage and a D&C on 9/30 - 1 month ago.

I felt SO pregnant...was hungry all the time so naturally was eating more. I definitely gained weight. None of it is coming off. I've been watching what I eat - def. not exercising as I'd like to but I have 1 DD who keeps me busy.
My weight fell off me after I gave birth to DD and I gained 45 lbs. Why is this 10 lbs not going anywhere? I was hoping to start to lose some of this weight.

Anyone have similar experience...hard time losing weight after a miscarriage?

ETA: - tried updating the subject to make more sense.

The date I got my BFP I was the lowest weight I had been in three years. I age for three weeks straight to help with the nauseous feeling. Then I had the miscarriage. I bled for 6 weeks and literally still looked (and felt pregnant) I found that the weight that I gained took a very long time to come off and for my body to get back to normal (maybe three months or so)

It will happen, but it really really stinks! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

that is good to know...thank you!
I haven't even gotten AF yet...I guess I am jumping the gun just hoping some of this weight will come off...so I can stop being reminded of the pregnancy/miscarriage!

Chat Icon Chat Icon I carried my first baby to 17wk3d......... I gained 12lbs while I was pregnant and over a year later, I never lost it.

I have to admit I haven't been trying too hard... doing fertility treatments, got pregnant with triplets and carried them till like 8wks........ I gained even more weight since then.. but ya know, it is what it is Chat Icon

Re: not losing weight after miscarriage

I felt like that was torture - having gained weight even early on and then having to lose it even though I had no baby to show for it... My hormones and thyroid levels were way out of whack though. Once I got a bit more regulated and got back to exercising as usual the weight I had put on did come off.

Re: not losing weight after miscarriage

YES..i was 8 weeks when i found out i had an empty sac....i had gained about 6 lbs!!!!!! I had a very very hard time losing it..it was not coming off after miscarriage...i ended up losing maybe 2 lbs. Then i got pregnant again. So after baby no. 2 comes, i am going to have to go on a intense diet.
Also, i was TTC shortly after my d&C, so i did find that it was harder mentally for me to be as focussed on my diet when i knew i was trying to get pregnant again..if that makes sense.

Good luck to you!

Re: not losing weight after miscarriage

I had this issue!! And then I gained more ontop of it!! UGH!!

i did eventually get pregnant and had a baby... lost that weight within 2 weeks... I STILL have the weight I gained prior to pregnancy (from the mc and before getting preg again). My nutritionist said maybe I needed the extra weight to get pregnant and stay pregnant. i think she was trying to make me feel better.

In any case... I still have this extra weight to lose!!
