Bloody Vaginal Discharge...
I know it's pretty common for newborn girls to have their "1st period".
Did any of you girls experience this with your DD?
If so, how long did it last for?

I think about a week to 10 days. Its really not a lot though, nothing like a period IMO.

I have a boy so obviously my ped. wouldnt tell me... but I have never heard of this happening before.

I never heard of it either! I'm glad it was posted though, because I'm having a girl in October. I would've been in for a surprise had I not read this.

my daughter was 2 months old when she got the discharge. It is actually apretty cool thing, it is your daughter expelling YOUR hormones from her body. Although i freaked out with my first born when it happened, once i spoke to y doc and was reassured it was totally normal I hysterically cried thinkinf that once again it was a sign of us no longer being connected, not by umbilical cord, not by hormones, she was her own little being now  . Those PP hormones can be intense!

My daughter didn't have it, but its normal. It's always something I've read about, but never read or heard it called thier first period! I am surprised a lot of people never heard of it before.

My daughter had it for about a week but it was like very light spotting...maybe a dime worth a day...
BTW my doofus DH just said that the title of this post would make a good band name.....

i never heard about this till on here and I ran and told DH cause hes already freaked about changing a girls diaper since we have a boy. we are having the girl in november so I told him to get ready lol.

I have a boy, but boys do often have your hormones in their systsems. It manifests itself in the baby having little bosoms...you know, boobies. Noah had cute little boobies for a few weeks, then they went away.

DD had this, it is VERY light spotting and it was for about week or SO after I delivered her. The DR told us it was my hormones coming out of her body. We were concerned until we were explained that it was completely normal and OK!

my dd had it for about a week and 1/2...ped. said it was the hormones that i passed on to dd..i mean i didnt realize it started that early for us women..OMG do we EVER get a break?

my DD has mostly a white milky discharge, she has a bloody one maybe one day that I noticed. The white discharge lasted about a week and half to two weeks.
