What to put in with turkey sandwich for school to keep cold
Silly question....I am going to give DS sandwiches at times to bring to Pre-K. It will be in a lunch box in a ziploc container that has dividers. Should I include a ice pack so it stays cold since he can't put it in a refrig at school?

I read in a magazine recently about freezing premade sandwiches (without codiments), throw them in the lunchbox directly from the freezer and they thaw by lunchtime. I have never tried it, but I just might come warmer months!

I make turkey sandwiches everyday and have never put anything in them. I do leave it in the fridge until my kids leave for school and they are only out a few hours before lunch and they are not sitting in the heat or sun either for that amount of time.

i put turkey sandwhiches in a bento box everyday and never use an ice pack. I also give her yogurt and cheese. It is kept int he fridge until right before she leaves for school.

Freeze the juice box. That is what we do. I put in two. One frozen one refrigerated.

This is what I do. I'm usually up around 6am and I put the bottle of water in the freezer at this time....by the time DD leave at 8:15 its frozen enough to keep food cold and defrosted and not slushy by the time lunch time comes.

I bought this container from Target. It has a removable ice pack on top of the container. So far it is working out great.

I do this for DD as well but she just gets snacks during the day (cheese, yogurt, fruit).
I also do this when we are going to be out all day and I want to keep food/snacks chilled
