Coxsackie in Adults?
So I'm pretty sure DS has it, he's going to the Ped tomorrow AM. I have a major surgery on Tuesday so I'm really concerned that I'm going to get this. Has anyone heard of an adult getting this? THanks!

Re: Coxsackie in Adults?
Adults can get it, but usually you have to be really run down to get it. I got it in college from my little cousins. It was horrible. Usually it will develop within 3-5 days of exposure to it.
That being said, my kids have had it 2x, but I never got it from them. Keep yours and their hands washed, make hand sanitizer your BFF and get enough rest and you should be fine.

Yes, when DS got it, I got it five days later, and DH got it three days after me. We each only had one bad day. Really exhausted and run down. Afterwards just some itchy and pain on bottom of our feet, tips of our fingers and hands wrists area. Was gone about a week later and peeling started two weeks after that.

Re: Coxsackie in Adults?
DS brought it home from daycare. i didnt realize it even with daycare sending a letter home that one of the toddlers had it. I had a funky looking tongue for a few days and canker sores so i went to the dr. and he said coxsackie. then the lightbulb went off and i realized DS brought it home. DS didnt get it though.
I was fine otherwise except for having those 2 symptoms. Its the time of year for it going around apparently.

Re: Coxsackie in Adults?
I got it about 3-4 days after my youngest son started showing symtoms. I won't lie, it was awful for me. Started with a horrible sore throat. On the otherhand, my husband and oldest son never got it so there is hope

i got it the day after we realized what DS had. It was awful! I you don't get it! Or that you already have some sort of immunity agaist it. DH never got it, so it's possible.

Sorry for the double post, can't edit
i got it the day after we realized what DS had. It was awful! I was literally sobing in pain., huge blisters in my mouth/throat and head to toe aches and pains. Felt like I got hit by a truck when the motrin wore off. I you don't get it! Or that you already have some sort of immunity agaist it. DH never got it, so it's possible.

Re: Coxsackie in Adults?
DD got it this Sunday. DH has been run down for 2 days now. Yesterday I had a sore throat. My ped told me it can manifest as GI problems such as diarrhea in adults. Praying my 2 month old isnt going to get it! Ahhh I hope your DS feels better. It was a very rough 2 days for us but she is much better now!
