Re: Talk to me about backyard swingsets
I shopped at both Wood Kingdom and Creative Playthings. I found the quality of both to be similar, but CPT had a lot of little things that I felt made it a better set. The tarp on top was a strong cloth vs. the plasticy vinal (like a tarp) at WK. They also have covers or plugs to cover the bolts, so it looks neater. We spent about $1800 for ours (bought in January, installed in April) They deliver and install as part of the price.
My friend bought a set from Costco and to be honest, it's very flimsy compared to the one I have. The wood is thinner, it peels, and it just isn't as well made. Yes, it looks nicer as far as features, but not worth it, IMO.

Also does anyone know if they offer removal of old set as well as delivery and install? We have a hand me down creative play things set that doesn't seem to be holding up that we'd be replacing.

We just got one for our almost 2 year old son from walmart...spent about 450 for it but had to put it together ourselves...took my DH, father and FIL about 7 hours to put it together

Re: Talk to me about backyard swingsets
we looked A LOT this past spring and i liked everything i saw at both Wood Kingdom and Creative Playthings. my kids are 2 and 4 so i didn't want anything too small but nothing crazy. my requirements were: a slide, something to climb, swings and a gondola/teeter totter thingy my DH was vehemently opposed to buying a swingset as he said "i could build them myself" it caused a fight here....but in the end this is what DH did (took about 3 weekend) who knew he could do this?
my kids LOVE it-was totally worth it. i'd say that in the end it probably cost about 900 dollars in the end. not cheap but he used good wood etc.

Re: Talk to me about backyard swingsets
We also have a creative playthings set. I agree that it is really the best quality of the ones we saw. Can't remember exactly how much it was - more than $1000 but, less than $2000. We have a smaller set though - 3 swings, slide, the fort and climbing wall. They deliver it and put it together as well (which some places the home depot and costco don't - putting it together is intense and costs $$$ from what I have heard from friends).

Re: Talk to me about backyard swingsets
We got ours at BJ's; it was a set similar to Creative Playthings had for 1/3 the cost. Took DH 3 days to set it up; but it's cedar; good quality & the kids love it.
This is almost finished...can't find a finished pic right now

Re: Talk to me about backyard swingsets
We got our set from Creative playthings. It was the Lincoln set. We have a very small yard so we didn't have a lot of choice in which sets we could get b.c it was the largest one we could fit in our yard.
