Do NOT worry about the little things. You can always go back a second time, or register for that stuff online.
Go in with some idea of what you want in terms of big-ticket items, like car seat with a snap n go vs. a travel system. Also, I would go to BuyBuyBaby before BRU, I feel like they are more knowledgeable.
The best investments I made for my kids were the Fisher Price Rock n Play Sleeper, the snap n go, and a swing that plugs in. I would also get a bouncer that vibrates, my kids loved to be swaddled in there, it helped them nap. a swaddle like the SwaddleMe is great, I know a lot of people like the Miracle Blanket but unless your kid breaks out of the swaddle easily you don't need it.

i felt like a kid in a candy store at buy buy baby....so much more stuff to choose from and yes, they seemed more knowledgeable...
PLUS....I learned they take the 20% coupons from bed bath and beyond because it's the same company. Will come in handy for people who buy you things.
