Slow growing embryos

I'm doing my last FET cycle with my remaining 4 embryos. I knew that these were the poorest of the bunch so the plan is to thaw them and grow to day 5. They are only 4 cells at this point, but good quality. While I was at my sono appointment today, I set up my transfer for next Friday.I asked my doctor if I should keep it in my mind that none of them will even make it to day 5 and she said YesChat Icon

Usually she's so optimistic so I'm really nervous and already feeling negative about this cycle. She did say that she would never waste my time or $$ if she thought there was no chance of it working.

Does anyone have any positive or negative experience with 4 cells at day 3?

I don't want to be a downer but 4 cells on day 3 is not good....on day 3 they should be at least 6 cell.....

Of course I have seen miracles happen, so try to stay positive...

I am just very surprised they would freeze such low cell embryos...actually I have never heard any clinic do that....

GL to you!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks! I googled day 3 and 4 cell and came across some success stories. I guess that if there is ANY chance at all that the embryo is viable, they will not discard it. My doctor said that she has seen 4 cell embryos take in patients my age, but not in older women.
