cant shake the exhaustion

I was feeling so much better after the first trimester but now at 17 weeks the past few days I just cannot seem to get over the exhaustion.I have taken a nap after work the past few days and all day at work I feel like I am just dragging. Any one else? Is this normal?

All throughout my pregnancy so far I've had bouts of this... Some days I just needs a nap by noon!

I have been really tired the past couple of weeks and I am 16 weeks pregnant. I thought you were supposed to get an energy boost in your second trimester Chat Icon

I think the heat is making the exhaustion much worse. I had a hard time keeping my eyes open past 6 PM until I was about 15 weeks, then it got a lot better. Stay inside in the air conditioning and maybe you'll perk up a bit soon! Chat Icon

I have been exhausted since I before I got my bfp! I can hardly make it past 9 any night even at 19 weeks but I'm putting it down to my long work-day and commute.

I have been super, super tired.. starting around 9, I start yawning and getting cranky.. I'm in bed most nights by 10 the latest.. I can also take a nice afternoon nap and go to sleep at 9 without any issues.. lolol..

Re: cant shake the exhaustion

I am 17 weeks also and I have my days but for the most part I feel like I defintely have more energy then I did in my first trimester. I found that going to bed earlier helped me alot. I never used to go to bed before 12 and was up at 6:30. Now I am in bed by 10 and sleeping by 11Chat Icon This baby is really consuming all my energy but I guess it is good practice for when LO arrivesChat Icon Chat Icon

Re: cant shake the exhaustion

Talk to your dr at your next appt.
I felt so tired my whole pregnancy with DS#2. It was rough it just never really lifted.

When I took some routine bloodwork around 26 weeks, they discovered I was anemic. So I started taking an iron supplement and it helped lift some of the exhaustion.

Re: cant shake the exhaustion

I dont think I shook the exhaustion until about 16-17 weeks, now its back again at 33 weeks. I think the heat also has alot to do with it too. Hope you feel better soon!

Re: cant shake the exhaustion

I was wondering if it was just me! I finally got my energy back in the 2nd trimester and then all this week, as soon as I sit down after dinner my eyes are closing! I thought it might have something to do with the heat too.

Re: cant shake the exhaustion

I'm 22 weeks and my OB's office just called me because i need to take an iron supplement. Now I know that I'm not only tired from having a 13 month old and being pregnant but I need to get my iron up.

Def. talk to your doc if you still feel this way. though I must say I don't think I haven't been exhausted t some point or another in my pregnancy with DS#1 or this pregnancy.
