I'm planning on taking the free classes at Stony Brook since I am delivering there, but I've seen people on here complaining about the cost of classes, so I thought I'd share. Picked this up at my obs office last night. This is through CFA, Childbearing Family Alliance in Smithtown. They offer this series that are either 4 nights or 1 all day on Sundays. They cover all aspects of birth and after birth for first time parents. The fee is $195 for all classes. They also have casearean prep class and refresher classes for $60. Other classes offered are Bradley Childbirth (unsure of cost), Breastfeeding ($50/couple), Baby care basics ($50 couple) and CPR ($50/pp). They have a new mothers' group that meets 6 times for $100. there are more classes for after baby is born too. Anyway, not sure I'll be doing any, as I'll probably just see how the free programs are first and wanted to get those DVDs suggested, but I thought I'd share.
