dying your hair

Is it safe?

I'm almost 27 weeks & keep getting mixed reviews!

I had highlighted my hair in the beginning before I knew I was pregnant, but they are turning orange and I want to dye it all brown.

Need your honest opinions. Please help!

Thanks!

Re: dying your hair

My doc told me to just wait until after the first trimester, making an appt next weekend and I can't wait!

Re: dying your hair

I was told after first trimester its ok - I have gotten my highlights done twice during pregnancy and will do it one more time before giving birth.

Re: dying your hair

My Dr said that it was fine. I have highlighted my hair 3 times during this pregnancy.

Re: dying your hair

My Dr. said it was ok too -- I haven't dyed my hair while being pregnant but when I had highlights and they were growing out my stylist did a single process on my hair to make it all brown again using what she called a demi-glaze, and not permanent. It had no amonia or peroxide and would last at least 30 washing which was even longer since I only wash and dry my hair every other day....but it definitely covered the highlights and made my hair look natural again. Loved it!! And every once in a while I repeat it to enhance my natural color and brighten it.

Re: dying your hair

I did it through my whole pregnancy. I was told it was safe.

Re: dying your hair

I had a dr appt AND a hair appt yesterday! He made a face when I asked about single process. I have been getting mixed feelings about this too when I looked online for info. Because he made the face and said highlighting was the best way to go - I got low-lights because I need to cover the grays. I may have just done the single process if I hadn't been to the doctor - I don't know. I think I may go towards the very end (I am 23 weeks now) and do a semi-glaze.
