Help!!!! Need ideas for traditional bathroom
I have to make decisions soon for my main bathroom renovation. I will start by saying I am the most indecisive person ever!!!
Some things I need help with.
Tile....... this really sets the tone of the bathroom and I want it to be timeless. Nothing catches my eye on decorating websites. Can anyone share a pic of a realistic bathroom they love? When I look at places like houzz.com the bathrooms are HUGE and a lot of the traditional bathrooms use marble (which we don't want to use). I have a split level with a standard size bathroom.
Bath tub.....anyone do a cast iron tub? My husband insists on cast iron. Problem is it limits the size. The height for cast irons only go to 16 inches; whereas, the acrylics can go to 20 high. What do think is better? I higher tub or the quality of cast iron?
Sink....oval or square? Square looks modern to me but they are bigger.
HELP!!!!
If you have inspiration pics please post.

Re: Help!!!! Need ideas for traditional bathroom
you both seem to have different tastes but it seems more like traditional with a modern flair to it..
I would keep the tones in the beiges and get white sinks and tub with oil rubbed bronze fixtures..
I have beigey (on the white side) marble in my bathroom and I loved it.. whtie cabinets, uba tuba granite (looks lovely but a b!tch to clean) and double sinks (white with oil rubbed bronze) the shower has granite inlay around the top.. the tub is built in..

I've always loved the look of a black and white bathroom. I think a cast iron tub fits nicely with this style, but its not a necessity.

Re: Help!!!! Need ideas for traditional bathroom
You can do the white octagon tiles for the floor in a porcelain i/o marble. And do white subway tiles on the wall (if you're going halfway up) These have a timeless look: As for a tub we have a cast iron one that's huge 6ft but it's an antique american standard tub that we got re-glazed. Also the free standing pedestal sinks look gorgeous they can be square w/rounded corners, gives you some room on top as "counter" space. Look at restoration hardware for ideas for vintage looking hardware and bathroom furniture - vanities, med cabinets ect.
