Carpet stair runners?
Our new house is basically all hardwoods, which we love, but it's just not practical for the stairs. They are steep and with a baby on the way (and a dog who already fell down them) we NEED to put a runner on them. The problem is, everything we've seen so far is just not our style. All of the runners seem to have ornate patterns that just don't go with our more casual style.
Does anyone here have less "typical" carpet runners on their stairs? I'd LOVE to see pics, even if they're just off of a website. I'm really not liking what I've been seeing and it's frustrating. TIA!

we just had runners done.... we went to Kelley Floors in Seaford and picked the carpet out, a simple beige with a cut/uncut design, no crazy busy multi colored patterns. For 11 steps it ended up costing about $250 for everything, padding, installation, etc (we picked out of all this carpet they had just got in, it was not remnants, but at remnant pricing). i will try to take a picture later and add it for you!

I've seen it done in a sisal / jute type rug, very fresh, contemporary imo
  
they wear & vacuum well, and not as dusty as pile rugs - probably great since you have a dog too!
