If you have a finished garage (sheetrocked, etc)...
what happens when you pull you wet car into it? My car drips so much when it snows, etc and we would like to finish the garage off since it's attached to the house. But I was thinking what happens when wetness gets on the floor, etc? Do you use waterproof sheetrock (like for a bathroom)?

there should be a cement footing around the garage. The sheet rock if finished would only go to that so the sheet rock would never go all the way to the ground. Hopefully you can paint that picture in your head. lol

Water on the floor should never affect the drywall. As MDF mentioned, there should be a section of cement before the drywall starts on the wall. Standing water on the floor won't affect the drywall, either. It should be sloped down, so there won't be much water, and it's the hot, humid air that affects bathroom drywall.
I've seen plenty of drywalled garages, and have never seen water resistant drywall installed, and never seen damaged walls in a garage.
Even TV professionals never put water resistant drywall in garages.

I have sheetrock in the entire thing, at one point the 2 car garage was illegally converted to an apartment but as converted back to sell. around the bottom there is about 6 inches high of cement on the sides where it could get wet, and I don't believe cement board or green board was used.

My garage is insulated and sheet rocked. I also have a drain in the cement, but I never washed the car in there. Also I dont think the sheet rock on the wall would be affected because the sheet rock is not on the ground, and if your car is dripping it will not get wet - only the floor of the garage will

Ours is completely sheet rocked, insulated and heated. We have the ceramic lip like mentioned. One of these days we will get to paint it. The floor is also on a slight slope so water never pools. We have not had any issues.

thanks all!
ceramic or cement?
Our floor is not sloped so it will not drain, it can take a few days to dry out if alot of rain or snow gets on the cement.
Also...any suggestions for the floor? Like do you have nice sheetrocked walls but ugly dirty cement floors? Besides painting the floor (which I would never do), is there any other product for the floor of a garage that you will park your car in?

You can paint the floor. There are a few options for flooring.
Epoxy paint is probably the most popular.

This is what I was going to say. Dh wants to do this it just hasnt made it high on our to do list yet.
But our garage isnt on a slope its flat, its sheet rocked and we have never had any issues. It gets to be a mess after the winter, with the leaves, then sand, etc. And yes it gets wet but no issues at all I mean the water is in the middle where my car is on the cement floor not near the walls at all. Every spring my DH spend a day cleaning it out.

Sorry, I meant cement. My parents have a large squeegee and they push the water out when ever there is a problem. I think they may not be as slopped as mine. You may want to get one to have. My house is new so the floors are in perfect condition and I don't consider them ugly looking at all, but when we get to it there is a crackled poxy that we will be putting down so they will continue to look nice. The finish looks pretty cool and I think comes in a couple of different colors. Maybe this spring we will get to it.

One of my friends from HS has a finished garage (from what I see on FB! ). It looks awesome and they have an epoxy floor.
