What to do? Vomit (TMI) my first experience with this: Morning Update and question
She's been coughing and runny nose. All clear. Allergies here are at their all time worst.
Last night she had a small fever 102 and motrin cleared that up and she slept solid.
Today... Coughing but otherwise normal.
I am not 100% kinda achy and tired so I passed out early and Jim had her all to himself.
UNTIL
I hear through the monitor coughing turn into nasty. So I sprang up wobbly and found my glasses.
She spewed all over herself, her sheets, blanket, pillow. Ugh
TMI: Chunky stinky ew
So I rinsed all the chunky stuff off and washed everything while Jim gave her a bath. Both of us telling her its ok and we'll make it all better.
Now she walks milk and I say no give her water or pedialyte (sp) but he says give her what she wants. I asked to water it down just a little bit.
She was SHIVERING in the bath and out. Still clear runny nose.
Fever is back at 102
ETA: I'm not kidding this is the FIRST time she's ever actually vomited. Spit up or cough our phlegm, sure but this? Never. Poor baby was so upset that she was covered in vomit.
AM Update. Bed time was around 2am for this family. But she slept. I gave her Motrin around 1am. Her fever went from constant 102.4 to hovering at 100.
I do believe fevers help so I let her 'cook'.
Now its 8am. The fever at 6am was hovering at 101 and now its back to 102.
Before I went to hawaii, she was sorta sick like this w/o vomit w/o fever and the doc gave me antibiotics.
Should I give it to her?

There's not much to do except have a bucket ready. My kids will sleep on thick beach towels just in case they can't make the bathroom, they can grab it on their wayto the bathroom & I'm not changing sheets all night, just washing towels.
And I totally agree with you - cut dairy immediately. Between a cough, any congestion & vomiting, milk makes it much worse. Stick with pedialyte, whatever she'll take.
I hope she's better soon.

This is what we did with DS (granted he's only 4mo). He had pyloric stenosis which caused him to projectiley puke during/after/much after every bottle so, until we relized what the problem was, we collected old towels from family members and wrapped him up in them and lined his PNP, bouncer, crib... everything.
Hope she feels better.

All of the coughing and extra mucus probably made her throw up...Definitely hold off on dairy...Pedialyte will help. And juice or water...Jello is good..Home she feels better soon...

mucus- no dairy- use water and juice, ice pops too. if she keeps throwing up, pedialyte.
use a vaporizer to help losen the plegm.
ds was coughing and when we took him to the ped. it was bronchitis and he was put on antibiotics. He had 102 which motrin would bring down, then it would come back. The day of the drs he threw up in the second half of the day, but it was only once.
hope she feels better.

I would not give her the antibiotics you have. You don't know what she has this time and if she's vomitting, they won't stay in her system anyway.
Plenty of fluids, no dairy

Re: What to do? Vomit (TMI) my first experience with this: Morning Update and question
Hubby is under orders to give her the pedialtye. Its hard to do when she wants milk. She associates milk with sleep. When she's sick she wants to sleep so she wants milk.
I also told him to go ahead and take her in. Bring the Antibiotics with him and tell them that yesterday Daycare said she was 'wobbly' on her feet and stumbling.
I HATE HATE HATE the sick visits. I always feel like they rush you out. Never been to a pediatrician who's made me feel like 'awww, she's sick.. lets see what we can see. What do you know. etc"
Jim has better luck so I send him. Or take him with me.
Unfortunately, Momma's got work today. Momma's not 100% herself either but that's just the way of life, aint it?

Re: What to do? Vomit (TMI) my first experience with this: Morning Update and question
So I knew that Texas is seeing one of its worst allergy seasons ever on record.
Mountain Cedar and Mold are at record highs.
Little did I know that an allergy attack can turn into a cold that includes vomiting and fevers
Things we learn. *sigh*
So Daddy & AJ are on their way home to watch Bugs Life for the 18th time. ha!
ETA: Oh, and she gets to spend the day in a "daddy - do" which means a very messy looking ponytail. ha! I put one in her hair while she was sleeping in case she spewed again. It was haphazard to say the least and messed up more with sleep. He can't do her hair so she's stuck with that for the day.
