Hoping someone can help me...need a psychiatrist on the south shore
I'm in NC, but a good friend of my mom's lives on LI and has a teenaged daughter who is cutting herself.
This poor woman needs help, she doesnt know who to turn to or what to do next.
I know it's a stretch, but if any of you know of someone who works with teens who cut, could you please FM me? She is desperate for a recommendation. TIA!

I intern at South-Oaks psychiatric hospital. I'll try to get a referral for you. I know a GREAT PSYCH but I believe his specialty is eating disorders. He's in Garden City

Be able to find one in her area If not
DH may have somen recs but he is sleeping

She needs a DBT program. Call Long Island DBT. They have a website.

Dr. Masiar (Southside hospital) is really good... I haven't used him, but I work there and have been in on sessions he has done with teens and he is very good (patient, understanding, talks to the kids, etc). Im not sure if he practices outside of the hospital, but you could call 968-3000
