Anyone else's hair getting very knotty?!
My hair has been getting soooo knotty, it's gross! I was thinking maybe it's from the friction of rubbing up against my hood .. or maybe the weather Its just never been this bad!
Anyone else? Any recs for getting those things out?
ETA: Just wanna stress that these are like large clumpy knots!

Yea I call it "the nest". Usually in the back of my neck, it really bad.
I just brish it out as gentle as possible, I end up with a fistful of hair at the end of it

Happens to me too from my coat. It's horrible. I'm actually thinking about cutting my hair because of it. I feel like I have to brush it a hundred times a day.

Re: Anyone else's hair getting very knotty?!
Ugh, mine is so bad.
I don't know your texture, but I have fine wavy hair that I straighten. I have a lot of it and it is LOOONG. I think the issue is static combined with sweaters and jackets that rub the hair.
I think the best thing you can do is wear your hair up when you have your jacket on. I also use Chi or biosilk in my hair to give it a little weight to make it knot less and make it more slippery. Other than that, I brush my hair often. You can spray static guard on your brush which helps with the fly-aways.

I just read through the thread and also checked to see if I had responded to it! I thought maybe I had some good advice.. but no
Maybe I'll try some kids detangler though. Anyone ever try this? Is it strong enough?

I use detangler and it doesn't help me at all. Well maybe it does, maybe my hair would be worse without it!

Re: Anyone else's hair getting very knotty?!
try a couple drops of a silicone based oil or shine spray.... detangler is more for when you blow out.......
just a drop ...not more or oily mess...also use a wide tooth comb every few hours for for a minute to keep one tangle from turning into a dread :)

I tried Chi silk infusion on it this morning. I guess it helped a little, though ultimately I think I'm in need of a haircut.
My hair is medium thickness and long.. I wanna do something with more of a shape. I have the urge to do something new!

You and me both! I will say though, no layers. You are just asking for bigger knots. Every time I get layers, the knots are worse.
But thanks for reminding me to schedule a trim!
I wish there was a better idea. Maybe a silk scarf over the collar of your jacket. Some women say it works.

Michelle- if layers aren't good.. what else can I do to change it up a little? Layers is always like my "go to" if I want my hair to look like i t's not just laying there.

For me it usually means I need a trim. I just got a trim and it's a lot better. For now...

My hair gets knotty even directly after a haircut. My hair dresser makes fun of me.

my hair gets very tangled so I use a kids detangler every morning after I shower. It works great!
I haven't tried it with dry hair though so idk if it would help with knots caused by your coat/scarf.
