Insurance for oil tanks
Does anyone have insurance for their oil tanks. my oil tank is above ground and i got a notice from Petro that it would cost 125 dollars to cover the expense of up to 100,000 if i was to have a leak etc. I called my insurance lady to see if my homeowners insurance would cover this...she is gettin back to me tomorrow.
The best part is that I received this letter about insurance via CERTIFIED MAIL... i had to run to the post office to sign for it..what's up with that?!? i was shocked that they paid the extra expense for certified mail.

not sure, but that's seems like a good idea! we are moving into a home, the tank is OLD and Petro services the boiler right now...wonder if they will send it to us

We have it insured thru Petro- and I am glad we have it- we had issues w/ our old one, and after that we will always insure our tank. If I can insure something like that I would. It is a PIA to get the certified letter and have to run to the post office to get it.

Petro offered it to my DH on the phone. I think we are going to take it. Ya never know, things happen.

With Slomins they normally give you a free service contract.
However if you purchase their upgraded service contract (like 200 bucks or so), they cover EVERYTHING related to the heating system which includes the oil tank itself, all your baseboards & radiators, full replacement on the boiler itself.
I think it's called boiler insurance with them. Something to look into.
