ABC Pulls My Generation
ABC has pulled My Generation from its schedule after just two episodes have aired.
The Thursday night drama dropped more than 30 percent in its second week to just 3.8 million viewers. The series, starring Jaime King, followed a group of high school seniors ten years after their high school graduation.
It is not yet known what will take over the Thursdays at 8/7c timeslot.
My Generation is the second casualty of the new fall TV season. Fox shelved Lone Star on Tueday, also after only two airings.

I watched the first episode, have the second in the DVR. I had trouble following all the characters and their pasts.

I don't understand how a station can pull a brand new concept after only showing 2 episodes. I really hope it gets picked up by a different channel (or even cable like A&E or something).
With that said, my DVR didn't tape it this week Maybe it knew?

That was so fast! I watched both episodes, but I wasn't in love with it. It was something to watch, and I hoped it would get better. Oh well :(

I knew it would go fast... It was a very interesting concept, but the show was kinda lame. I loved the "nerd" guy though-- I always wanted to reach through the TV and hug him!!

awww I actually really liked the show and wanted to see where it would go.  I def hope another network picks it up. Like TNT did with Southland.

Great concept but really poor execution. The writing was terrible. I wanted it to be good though, I like shows like that.

I work in the industry and I'm not surprised. From back in May when I watched the pilot I said "would make a great movie, but not a series". I thought it would make it to around 4 episodes. The networks are smarting up. They'll make more money airing a Grey's Anatomy or Modern Family repeat in the time slot.

You know thats so weird - when I watched the first episode I thought it would work as a movie but didn't really understand how they would make it into a series.

I didn't see it, but they had a show similar too it a few years back, it was called "Reunion". It was about a group of friends that lost touch over the years, but meet up at the reunion and one them gets murdered by one of the people in the group. It went on for quite a few episode then got pulled.....I never found out who the murderer was, I was soooooo ******! I have been hesitant to start watching any new shows because of it!

this is why I wait for a show to make it one whole season and then I get into it online or via itunes. I felt burned after The Nine, Flashforward, and countless other shows that get yanked after a few episodes.

I'm friends with one of the writers on the show. He's devastated. He said that ABC forced the showrunner to "dumb down" the pilot because they were worried that people wouldn't follow it, with all the characters. So it started off slower than they would have liked... and with all the rewrites and such, the writing quality was really sacrificed.
He says that the concept of the show was supposed to have been that the documentary filmmaker gets really manipulative. Instead of just filming their lives, she starts to influence them in terrible ways, just to make good tv. She becomes the main character of the show.
... but I still thought the first 2 episodes were awful.

Aww sounds like it was gonna get good! That must be really sad for the cast and crew
