Anti-hoarder moms...
What did you do with all the cards you received for your LO's baby shower and arrival? Or their first birthday cards?
Also..what'd you do with your wedding cards?

I am EXACTLY like that. I keep nothing, DH always jokes that I have no sense of sentiment.
Anyone, wedding cards - garbaGE.
Cards for the birth of my son - saved the grandparents (our parents), our siblings (DS aunts and uncles) and the ones from DS great grandparents bc just bc I have no sense of sentiment, doesnt mean he wont. They are in his baby book (which remains unfilled out).

Card wise i save the ones from DH...i have a box of cards going back to when we were dating.
For the shower cards, cards we got for DS after he arrived, I saved them all in a box for him. all of his first holiday cards I saved as well. Im working on putting together his first year album..so it will all be saved with that.
our wedding stuff I have in our cardbox in our attic.
Holiday cards and such we get I keep out for a few weeks then toss.

Unless they wrote something very special or meaningful, I toss them. I do have a keepsake box with some wedding cards though, but I only kept a select few.

My MIL is anti-card... the kids can't read them anyway, and these days a card is often $3-4... insane. Instead, every year on their birthday she buys them a classic children's book and writes a special message inside... the book takes the place of the card and the book can become part of their collection.

Wedding cards I saved my parents and my inlaws. I am very happy I saved my Mom's card to me since she passed away 4 years later. All the others I tossed.
DS cards I saved the special ones for his scrapbook and tossed the rest.

I save cards with writing in it for DS.
My mom saved my cards and now that she passed away, I'm saving them! I have my childhood things in a small plastic box from Target. My DS is now at the age where he's asking if I ever got....like he did. I pull things out of the box when relevant.
Pictures too. He's into Diego and asks me if I've ever seen a jaguar or this or that and so I pull out a picture of me working with Jaguars or kinkajus. He thinks Diego was made about me, so I'm the coolest in his book!
