Do they make softer crib mattresses?

For her Toddler Bed

I think she hates her bed. I have tried to pad it as much as possible but she can't sleep on it.

She has a mat on the living room floor that has like 4 or 5 blankets piled on it then on top of THOSE, she has a 'nap roll' which is like comfy cushioned roll out sleeping bag type surface with a blanket and pillow attached. On top of all of THAT she sleeps like an angel. On our bed with or without us she'll sleep solid. But move her into her bed and she'll get about 3hours in before she's upset. She'll even fall OFF her bed and sleep better on the floor if she has a pillow under her.

I have 'tried out' her bed versus the floor w/pillow, the floor w/mat set up and our bed.... her bed is SOOO hard! I even have blankets on her bed and its just so uncomfy.

Do they make softer mattreses?

I don't think so, I would guess they'd worry about an infant smothering, you know?

What about buying a twin sized egg crate foam thing and cutting it down? Maybe you can put some blankets over that and then use a twin sized sheet since it will be too bulky to get a crib sheet over.

Hrm.. guess I should hit up walmart for that eggcrate stuff.

I totally understand the issue for infants but my toddler is not sleeping in her bed! ugh!

I think they must because I have a dual sided matress. DS slept horribly on the hard side. Once we flipped it to the softer side he slept much better! It came with our crib from Behr's.

My dd hated her crib mattress so I searched and searched and found the BEST mattress ever at IKEA. it is amazing. She slept like a "baby" after we switched it for the regular mattress!
