I think everyone has a different opinion. We struggled with this and ultimately decided to go with foam. We have a Colgate Visco Classica II, it is about $220 at Buy Buy Baby and you can use a coupon. We liked that it has a firm side for newborns and a slightly softer side for when they get a little bigger. Colgate also has a mattress that has coils on the inside and foam on the outside. That one looked good too, I think its about $350 i think.

Same here. They are so light - makes changing sheets so much easier!

One that fits. "Standard" size mattresses can vary in size up to 2", leaving a gap between the mattress and the crib frame.... Chat Icon

Same. It is a foam mattress.

We have the L.A. Baby Organic 2-in-1 mattress from Costco. It's still on the site and listed for $129! Other organic mattresses we looked at were SO expensive but this one had amazing reviews, the price was great and it's 2-in-1 so it has an infant side (which is more firm) and a toddler side. Nice snug fit in the crib and DD sleeps great on it.
